OUR STORY

IT STARTED WITH A TEN-YEAR-OLD POTHOS.

It was huge.

And getting that thing out of a traditional plant hanger was an absolute nightmare.

My husband and I were trying to maneuver this giant, trailing plant out without destroying it. Vines broke. Leaves got crushed. Soil went everywhere. We were stepping around leaves and vines, vacuuming up dirt, trying to untangle the whole mess.

And when we finally got it out, my beautiful ten-year-old plant looked like it had gotten a chopped haircut.

I remember looking at it and thinking:

There has GOT to be a better way.

So I went online.

I searched every plant hanger I could find: handmade, big marketplaces, everywhere I could think to look.

And I couldn’t believe nobody had solved the actual problem.

So I started experimenting.

THE BOTTOM KNOT HAD TO GO.

Traditional macramé-style hangers usually have a knot underneath the pot.

But if I wanted the hanger to work differently, I needed to be able to lay it completely flat and center the pot directly onto it.

So the bottom knot had to go.

Then came the top.

I experimented with different hardware, materials, connections and strengths until I finally landed on something that actually worked.

The hanger could open completely.

You could lay it flat.

Set your plant down.

Bring the straps up around the foliage.

Connect the top.

Hang it.

LAY IT FLAT.
SET YOUR PLANT.
HOOK & HANG.

And suddenly, the whole thing made sense.

THEN I COULDN’T STOP.

Once I knew the system worked, I didn’t sleep much for about a week.

I kept thinking about all the people with plants like mine, the huge pothos, the trailing vines, the plants that had outgrown their pots and somehow become permanent members of the family.

I also kept thinking about how hard it was to find plant hangers that felt like me.

I love thrifted things. Vintage materials. Texture. Objects with character. A home that feels collected instead of copied.

I didn’t want to make another hanger that looked like every other hanger.

I wanted to make something that could hold a plant beautifully and belong in an interesting room.

Something sturdy.

Something functional.

Something you actually want to look at.

That became Hook & Vine.

THE PLANT WORLD NEEDED A DISRUPTOR.

I don’t think plant design needs more of the same.

I think there’s room to look at something ordinary and ask:

What if we did this differently?

That’s what Hook & Vine is built on.

Your plant shouldn’t have to fit the hanger.

The hanger should work around your plant.

WHAT’S NEXT

THE ORIGINAL is the invention that started it all.

THE ARCHIVE is where function becomes collectible — where vintage textiles, unusual materials and unexpected combinations become limited pieces.

THE 100 HANGER PROJECT is where we’re sending Hook & Vine out into the world — 100 hangers, 100 people, 100 stories.

And this is just the beginning.

WELCOME TO THE TANGLE-FREE REBELLION.
