Plant Hanger Rage

I was repotting my pothos — you know, the one that’s been with me through moves, babies, burnout, and late-night breakthroughs. I love this plant.

She’s resilient, trailing, thriving. And that day, she was also pissing me off. I had just given her a new pot and wanted to hang her back up, but the second I reached for my macramé hanger, I felt it — the dread.

You know what I’m talking about. The flipping. The tangled cords. The vines getting caught and crimped and bruised. The awkward hold-this-while-I-loop-this chaos.

I called in my husband for backup and we were both fumbling like we’d never touched a plant before. The vines were getting wrecked, the pot almost dropped, and I just kept thinking… Why is this still the only way? 

Why are we still using the same tangled net design from the ‘70s like we haven’t made progress in literally everything else?

Why is no one talking about how annoying it is to get a fully grown, vining plant into a hanger without breaking her spirit? 

So I did what anyone in denial does — I opened Amazon. Then Etsy. Then Google. Surely someone had solved this by now, right? Nope. Same knotted nets. Same flipping. Same designs that don’t care about your actual plant.

So I decided: Fine. I’ll do it myself. I started ordering parts. I made a mess (photo proof above).

I ripped through packaging, tried weird hardware combos, spilled coffee, and probably whispered this is either genius or stupid about fifty times.

And through that chaos, Hook & Vine was born. A hanger that lays flat, cradles your pot, and hooks at the top — so your plant goes in gently and beautifully, with no flipping, no wrestling, and no stress.

Because honestly? We deserve better. Our plants deserve better.

This isn’t a cute hobby. This is a reimagining. From scratch. With messy hands and a stubborn heart.

We’re not just here to hang plants. We’re here to protect them. Elevate them. Let them thrive without struggle.
