Why I Created a Plant Hanger That Actually Works for Trailing Plants

Why I Created a Plant Hanger That Actually Works for Trailing Plants

If you’ve ever tried hanging a trailing plant, you probably know the struggle.

You bring home a beautiful pothos, string of pearls, ivy, or trailing philodendron. It’s full, healthy, and growing exactly how you want it to… until it’s time to hang it.

Suddenly you’re trying to shove delicate vines through a traditional plant hanger while leaves snap off, stems get tangled, and your once-beautiful plant ends up looking stressed before it even makes it to the ceiling.

As a plant lover, I kept thinking:

Why are we still doing this?

Traditional plant hangers haven’t really evolved.

And that frustration became the beginning of Hook & Vine Co.

The problem with traditional plant hangers

Most plant hangers require you to:

  • lift the plant into an awkward hanging basket
  • force vines through straps
  • flip heavy pots around
  • untangle trailing plants
  • risk damaging delicate growth

If you own plants like:

Pothos
String of Pearls
Philodendron
Ivy

—you know how frustrating this can be.

The idea

I wanted something easier.

Something functional.

Something beautiful enough to feel like décor.

So I designed a plant hanger with a detachable top system.

Instead of fighting your plant:

  • lay the hanger flat
  • place your plant inside
  • gently guide straps around vines
  • attach the top hardware
  • hang your plant with far less stress

Simple.

But incredibly helpful.

A year of prototypes

This wasn’t an overnight idea.

It took:

  • over a year of testing
  • multiple prototypes
  • sourcing materials
  • learning manufacturing
  • filing patents
  • countless mistakes
  • late nights after being a mom and business owner

There were plenty of moments where I questioned whether I could actually pull this off.

But I kept going.

Designed to be functional and beautiful

At Hook & Vine Co, I don’t just want products that solve problems.

I want them to feel like statement pieces in your home.

Think:

  • elevated neutrals
  • vintage-inspired textures
  • thoughtful materials
  • functional design

Your plants deserve better than an afterthought.

We’re officially live

And now… after all of that work…

Hook & Vine Co is officially live.

This first drop is intentionally limited as we grow and gather feedback.

Thank you for being here early.

And thank you for supporting a small-town founder with a big idea.
